At FORM, your form is the foundation on which you build your life. A weak form leads to a lifetime of fruitless workouts and frustration. Invest in your health, learn how to train right, develop a solid foundation, and you will enjoy life to the fullest.
Self-respect and self-worth do not come from a fancy environment (although our space is beautiful)—they come from within by pushing yourself to do more. Like no other Fitness Center, FORM is a place of support, a place of hope, and most of all a community center where you can be part of a family. Our group environment will help you overcome your doubts and FORM solid foundation.

Welcome to the best and largest fitness center in downtown Palo Alto, offering full amenities and two floors. Conveniently located next to an eight-story parking garage, with three-hour free public parking, we welcome you to stop by, take a tour and see what we are all about. Over the past three years we have built our reputation for having the best quality group exercise classes in the Bay Area and today we would like to invite you to come see for yourself. We challenge you to find another club that offers as many classes, at such a variety of times, as we do. We offer more classes than most health clubs ten times our size. Our new space was built to match our philosophy. We have built a spacious indoor cycling room offering the best cycling classes in the area. Additionally, we provide an expansive, naturally-lit aerobics room, and a dedicated stretching area with mats to provide the ultimate in comfort. We also have state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment so that you may make productive use of the facility. Our full-amenity locker rooms are equipped with private showers, necessary toiletries and a complimentary towel service. The safe and well-lit child care facility is the ideal place for your little ones to rest or play in safety while you enjoy your workout. Our childcare services are available Monday through Friday 8am-12pm, and Saturday 8-11am on a 1st-come, 1st-serve basis.

Upon moving to Palo Alto two years ago, I joined Form. The company I moved to Palo Alto to work for, Facebook, offered a subsidy program through which they would pay for a portion of my gym membership at a participating local gym. Form was one of the few gyms to participate in the subsidy program. As we scaled from about 200 Palo Alto employees, at the time I joined, to over 1,200, Form has continued to participate in the subsidy program. Form’s commitment to helping keep companies like mine healthy, no matter what size, is certainly commendable.
As a new member, I was immediately surprised at how many benefits there are to being a member of a smaller, more exclusive gym. The previous gyms felt like meat markets; people seemed more interested in checking each other out or competing with each other than in getting a good workout. At Form, the environment is much less tense. Gym members are respectful of one another, and choose to focus on their own workout rather than their neighbor’s.
The staff at Form also sets it apart from other gyms. They’re incredibly friendly and outgoing, and always make me feel welcome at the gym rather than just privileged to be there. Many of the staff members have made an effort to get to know me personally, and almost all have learned my taste in group classes (and promptly offer me a reservation card for spin class upon checking in on Mondays and Tuesdays).
And it’s not just the staff that sets Form apart; it’s also the fellow members. I’ve gotten the chance to get to know a few of them fairly well over the years, and it’s been an absolute pleasure. The camaraderie in group classes has been integral in getting myself through some of the tougher group workouts.
I feel that I should also note how wonderful the actual gym space is. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in tons of natural sunlight. I always prefer to work out outdoors, and as far as gyms go, working out at Form is the closest you can get to working out outdoors, indoors. The décor is clean and modern, and there’s always plenty of room to work out.
I’ve enjoyed being a member of Form Fitness immensely, and lament the fact that post move to San Francisco, I may have to re-join one of the big trendy gyms. I’ll truly miss being a member of Form, and wish the staff and members all the best!

In the 3+ years I was a member at Form Fitness, I always knew and appreciated its awesomeness – although it took me moving São Paulo and touring various fitness centers in attempt to find its Brasilian counterpart to really fully comprehend just how fantastic of a gym Form truly is, and that there is no gym like it anywhere. So rare is it to find a gym with such a high concentration of high-caliber instructors and trainers, and such a diverse range of classes. The sense of community that Sassan has created and nurtured is trulyunique and special to Form; at Form you are never just a member ID number, you are part of the family and as cheesy as it sounds, it’s a place much like Cheers (where everyone knows your name and is happy to see you). The members who became my friends and family are truly missed!Sure, there are fancy gyms out there that boast of satellite TV on every cardio machine and a gazillion different types of bologna “in fashion” fitness classes/gizmos and gadgets that claim to be the Holy Grail of fitness... but not a single one of those places holds a candle to Form Fitness.
To everyone at Form, or anyone who is considering joining … it truly is the best gym on earth and the best decision I ever made to join!!

As a soccer coach it can be hard to motivate a team to do conditioning and make it fun. For a group of teenage girls, conditioning can sometimes be a civil war between coaches and players. So last spring I enrolled my team of 12 and 13 year-old girls, the Palo Alto NV Fierce, in a kickboxing workout at Form Fitness. The girls loved it! They were excited to learn kickboxing combos, (which we had to warn them not to use in games) and they didn't seem to notice the cardio exercise mixed in. The instructor even made push-ups interesting by having each girl count to ten in a different language. The class was a great way to have fun and condition for our spring soccer tournaments. Thank you FORM Fitness!

I have a confession: I live in China. I've lived here for most of the past 4 years. So why am I reviewing Form Fitness? Because Palo Alto is my home, and each time I return, one of the places that I feel most "at home" is Form. There are two places I go to within a day of being back in Palo Alto: Cho's and Form. The former is borderline ridiculous because I LIVE IN CHINA but the latter makes a lot of sense. Not just because it helps manage my potsticker-derived calories but because it's a place where I re-energize in every sense of the word.
When I was younger I preferred to work out at places like Golds or Nautilus. My priority was on building muscles in the most traumatic way (loading up the plates and bouncing it off my chest). But as I matured I realized that life is not all about being a bubbling cauldron of testosterone, other things matter too, things like balance and harmony. These more refined needs are fully satisfied by Form.
Friendly. Knowledgeable. Inspiring. These are the adjectives that come to mind when thinking of the staff at Form. Another way of describing the ambiance is that it's like Cheers - where everyone knows your name. Working out with friends is always more fun then working out alone.
A note about their kickboxing classes: so much fun and such a great workout! I never kicked a bag until I joined Form but I'm addicted now. So much in fact that I now regularly attend a muy thai class in Shanghai taught by a Thai champion. Comparing the two, I can say that the quality of workout and learning are of the utmost quality at Form. If you do decided to checkout one of the classes I highly recommend the session with Ian because his methods are practical and very very entertaining. Oh and you'll also burn 800+ calories.
My conclusion: having a great time while getting an awesome work out. That's FORM.
