Accomplishments:
Carl has been racing for nearly 20 years, including triathlon in high school and collegiate racing on multiple nationals teams at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Carl is a true "home grown" to the bay area cycling community starting up on the Spectrum ride in junior high and high school. Carl progressed through the regional triathlon ranks as a junior before switching to road racing due to injury. Collegiate racing showcased Carl's versatility as he was the first individual to compete in the Collegiate National Road, Mountain and Triathlon events in the same year. Before returning to road racing, he was a USA Triathlon All-American runner up after placing well in US National and Ironman World Championship events. After seven seasons on local Pro 1-2 elite teams as a key leadout, Carl joined FormFitness in 2009 in support of team sprinters. Carl hopes to continue to race in multiple disciplines while mentoring younger riders in 2009 and beyond. |
